The Cardinal School District serves its nearly 1,200 students from Middlefield, Huntsburg, and Parkman in four school buildings: Cardinal High School, Cardinal Middle School, Cardinal Intermediate School, and A.J. Jordak Elementary School. All teachers are Highly Qualified and properly certified according to the state standards of Ohio. Every member of the staff works hard to provide a quality education for our students thus allowing several of our buildings to receive consistent, Excellent Ratings from the state on the annual report card. All Cardinal schools are designed to meet the unique needs of students in an atmosphere that respects differences in learning style, interest, and personal development. There are many exciting and innovative plans in place for the Cardinal school district including: enhanced classroom technology, website upgrades, and improved class offerings. Couple these enhancements with our all day, every day Kindergarten classes, bussing for high school students, and the reintroduction of band, music, and choir and it’s clear, positive transformation is already underway in Cardinal schools. We have 650 chromebooks district wide and starting with the 2015-16 school year, the high school will feature a 1:1 iPad rollout program, where every student will have an iPad for classroom learning. These improvements will only increase the value of a Cardinal Local Schools diploma while continuing to set our school, students, and staff apart in the years to come! What’s inside? Huskie Pride! Cardinal High School CHS houses grades 9-12 with an average enrollment of 450 students. Block scheduling, 30 hours of college credit plus courses from Lakeland Community College and The Ohio State University, and a state of the art distance learning classroom all help provide a quality educational experience. Cardinal Middle School CMS houses the school district’s 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th, grade students and averages an enrollment of 390 students. CMS is a comprehensive model middle school program focusing on college and career readiness. Students in every classroom have access to iPads thanks to monies received through the Straight A Grant. Jordak Elementary & Cardinal Intermediate Schools JES houses grades K-2 and CIS is home to the Districts 3rd and 4th graders. Together the buildings have an average enrollment of 500 students. Starting with the 2014-15 school year, our Kindergarten classes moved to an all day, every day format. In addition to their classroom learning, JES and CIS students attend an enrichment class of music, art, library, or physical education throughout the week. CIS students also have the opportunity to participate in student council, band, and the accelerated reader program
